Computer Programmer

Our service helps businesses optimize their cash flow and maximize their liquidity by converting current invoices into readily available working capital. Businesses that use our system also get the benefit of reduced accounts receivable administration costs and minimized credit risk.

POSITION SUMMARY

Working closely with the Director of Operations & IT, the Computer Programmer contributes to the overall success of the organization by effectively managing a variety of programming assignments and projects. The incumbent will be working in a supportive, mid-size team environment where a great deal of initiative, resourcefulness and independence is required to be successful. A desire to learn new skills and build upon existing IT infrastructure knowledge is also essential.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Perform a variety of programming assignments requiring knowledge of established programming procedures and data processing requirements
    • Code, test and troubleshoot programs utilizing the appropriate database and programming technology
    • Design and optimize data structures, stored procedures, and SQL queries
    • Maintain and modify programs; make approved changes by amending flow charts, develop detailed programming logic, and coding changes
    • Test and develop programming modifications
    • Write new program code using prescribed specifications
    • Analyze performance of programs and take action to correct deficiencies based on consultation with users and approval of director
    • Confer with users to gain understanding of needed changes or modifications of existing programs. Resolve questions of program intent, data input, output requirements, and inclusion of internal checks and controls
    • Write and maintain programming documentation.
    • Maintain confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed
    • Document programming problems and resolutions for future reference

The Computer Programmer will have to spend long hours sitting and using office equipment, and it is important to note that this may cause muscle strain. On occasion, he or she will have to do some lifting of computer equipment, supplies and materials.

Physical Demands
The Computer Programmer will have to spend long hours sitting and using office equipment, and it is important to note that this may cause muscle strain. On occasion, he or she will have to do some lifting of computer equipment, supplies and materials.

Environmental Conditions
The Computer Programmer may have to manage a number of projects at one time, and may be interrupted frequently to meet the needs and requests of clients. The Computer Programmer may find the environment to be busy, noisy and will need excellent organizational and time and stress management skills to complete the required tasks.
